Ill health and several other issues have made the return to the stage a remarkable event in our eyes, but even in these circumstances miracles dont happen. Hey guys!...ok so whilst im not touring and enjoying some time in the world of wherever i am and whatever im doing...i thought i would share some old memories/videos and personal funtimes with you and explain the stories behind them.
Firstly:
This video was shot on a camera phone in London. One of my good friends was playing piano in the apartment we where staying at and we have always usually at some point burst into a song or two, me singing, and Roxy(as his 'name' is)playing the piano. We have been doing it for years ever since we met and i guess a part of me always wanted to have something to show for it, because they are really happy moments for me. So whilst jamming away on this particular day a camera phone was set up so we could intially record how we sounded. What we didnt realise until we watched it back is it also seemed to capture how much music meant to me personally. The way i behave in this video is EXACTLY how i behave everyday of my life when i listen to music, play music, and sing my songs, or someone elses songs. The song we 'covered' was the The Killers' When You Where Young. We have always loved Brandon Flowers so it was fun. It was random and fun.

SECONDLY:

This video was shot at one of my final shows on the first tour i ever did. This tour lasted from October 2008 - January 2010 and i spent the tour always adding new material to the setlist. This footage was shot by one of our great friends who joined me for the last leg of my tour in the UK. The show was a very small one with just a few people in the audience, the show had been promoted pretty badly and i was pretty fed up at this point because i was starting to feel exhausted. That exhaustion led to Glandular Fever and the cancellation of my 3 tourdates following this show and the end of touring until i get on the road again. I like the video because although behind that camera there are only 3 people dancing, and a load of others just standing there, i am giving them all 100% because ive always believed in that. Wether it be 2 audience members, or 2000%, they all deserve the same amount of energy, music and emotion. The song is 'I Died For Love' off my debut album and its the end of the song when i reach a peak of euphoria :D I miss these days....

THIRDLY:

This video is another personal one. Its called ''pre show warm up?'' as a bit of a joke because it most certainly isnt...hehe. This is me and a old friend at the movies and i had a little bit too much to drink and well...i had to warm up for the movie somehow!. Enjoy :p

Todays Studio Breakthrough...

We have been recording the album since December and we have 5 tracks down and two instrumentals that will be on the album as well...

News and blues...

Hellloooo.

So im currently warming up my mind for a set of teeny weeny shows in England :)
I havent done any shows there except one small test show in January because i was quite seriously ill again :(
I had to cancel all my December and January shows so i could have enough time to get the right treatment and recover. Ive been doing rehearsals and things are improving and my vocals are getting stronger again :D

Some old clips and a new one were uploaded to a friends youtube page last week, it was so cool seeing those memories again! hehe! :)
I took one of them down myself though as i felt a bit weird seeing that one up :p

We are working on with the second album at the moment and we reveal the first FREE single from the second album on March 3rd. Im really excited because its the first glimpse of whats to come and what ive been working on in our wee studio. We are putting more hours into this second album and the effort and experimental effort is showing. I hope you all like the first single :D

MARCH 3RD!.

I want to take a second to remind you of one thing, im human. I got a sense of why i hate people knowing me this week, people feel the need to judge and criticise every step you take and i was thinking to myself that it would be interesting to see them do what musicians do and work hard to get your MUSIC heard but they completely bypass the music and shoot bullets at the creator of the music and lyrics.
Just shut the fuck up and listen to the music, and if you dont want to enjoy or feel or understand the music, then fuck off elsewhere and enjoy someone elses music. I am not a figurehead, i dont want to be famous, i dont want you to worship or love ME, and i dont want you to think you know ME, i want people to enjoy music and lyrics and let them sink deep into your heart. I have NO interest in doing your interview or having to answer to my personage.
Im a human, not a fucking robot. I have flaws, i have made corrections in my life, but take a long good look at your life before you even think about commenting on mine.

Good :)

I enjoy making music, i enjoy doing music videos, i enjoy photoshoots and i enjoy meeting good people and sharing stories.
I enjoy performing live, and i enjoy writing songs that give you a piece of me.

But that is all you get from me, music, it all revolves around the music. I dont want money, i dont want cars, i dont want anything of that sort. All my clothes are cheap, as is my food, and i spend my money on MUSIC.

Please feel the music, if you want to get close to how i feel, listen to the feeling in my songs.

daring to believe....

hello.

so i promised myself i would make this blog a much more personal experience for people who choose to read it. so that it was worth it. i decided to this official blog so people could get a more detailed insight into my mind, my heart and my life.

so you can feel closer to the person behind the videos, music and imagery.

yet im a very private person. so we are stuck in a rut to say the least!.

so i decided to just post observations and news updates about life on the road, in the studio and whatnot.

i fly out to sweden in the next day or so to begin writing more songs for the second record ''apollo | lovers'' and put some little pieces of music together to see how they fit. we are going to be working with some SWEEEET guitars to begin with and i will then translate the feeling i get into the synths and beats i will put together when i get back to the studio we have in england.

the second album is a concept album based on a story i wrote 4 years ago called ''moving forward''. i kept the story in a old box and it was recently i found the story. i read it back to a friend and realised we had the amazing basis for a concept album. i had written several songs into the story so i had my first few songs already but i needed more than two of course. i write my songs based on dreams that i have and i tweak and intertwine them to make lyrical sense. my whole debut album, which is 15 tracks, was written this way. i dont rush a album and i normally dont force myself to write. i trust myself and i know that the songs will come. i dont like to just rhyme shit together, i have to really truly feel the song and it has to reduce me to a deep emotional state for me to want to write about it, and record it. and then i have to choose carefully how i want that song to feel, sound and then presentable.

its the way i do it. it means the experience is deeply personal and deeply and emotionally honest.
yesterday i wrote a song that will make the album and it'll be tracked in january.

each song gets attention to detail time, of about two weeks each at the moment. countless versions and mixes are done for each song before one makes me jump up and go THATS THE ONE!.

anyway....

im doing a small show in Gothenburg, Sweden on new years eve. its to celebrate the debut full length album release and to give birth to the next album. im excited. a stack of tour dates are ready to be rocked in the new year.

i think this will be my last blog until the new year so i'll take this time to wish you funtimes over the next few weeks. i dont want to say ''happy christmas'' because...well...its bullshit really. right?

new blog, new album, new tour, new love.

hi everyone!. so we decided to create a new blog away from the complicated world of myspace.
this is my first blog post!.

on january 1st, my first full length album 'EMPIRE | GHOSTS' is released in USA, UK, CANADA & EUROPE via iTunes!.
there are 15 tracks on the record. we began recording this album in October 2008 with a fantastic producer named Chris Harding and finished recording it in October 2010 with a equally brilliant producer David Emery. i combined three seperate stories into one huge record. ive been touring this album and these songs in the UK and USA since October 2008. doing small shows to at times a few people, at others a lot more.

this debut album has years of pain, sadness and misery imprinted in the lyrics, tones and music. i get emails from people asking if i genuinely feel the emotion. i can honestly say, that i wouldnt have recorded the songs or written them if i didnt see them as a way to escape the emotion i feel. i escape the emotion by engulfing myself in it. it never works and i always find myself in a emotional rut, but it makes more some honest fucking music. so its a win in some respects right?

recently ive been pretty damn ill so we had to cancel some shows :(
good news is we are rescheduling the shows and have booked in some pretty cool intimate gigs in 2011 in London, Derby & Leicester and we are following these shows up with more gigs in the UK before embarking for some tourdates in the USA in Boston, New York and East Coast states.

i really love performing in the US because people come out to see music. they wont even know who you are and by the end of the night you have given them 100% energy and passion on stage and they come up to you with genuine love and spirit in their eyes and they tell you ''thankyou''.
i experienced this a lot in the UK in 2010 too and it made me really believe that this is what i was born to do. i have had some shit shows in 2010 too in which i beat myself up for hitting the wrong chord or fucking up on a song vocally. only i know wether it was a good show. perfectionist much.

recently me and a friend went to see ARCADE FIRE. we got to have a wee chat with the band and thanked them for existing and they gifted me with a setlist from the show. bands like ARCADE FIRE make me want to go home and write a trillion songs and record a billion albums and never stop. i realised that night that music is my life and i dont know if i would survive a happy man without it. im eternally greatful for the people who have helped make the debut record come to pass.

we are currently working hard on my second album. APOLLO | LOVERS is a concept album. and we are very drawn into its design and idealism. its a tragedy and we are trying to convey that in lyric, music and melody. sinking ships.....
